Nigeria Stop TB Partnership was established to create a massive movement of organizations with individuals committed to the fight against TB in order to “work-our-talk” bolster action and leverage resources for TB elimination by 2050. In 2007 a task force was set up to develop the constitution, a strategic plan and to conduct elections of executive members of the Partnership.
Election of the new Executive Members of the Nigeria Stop TB Partnership was concluded in May 2015 with the inauguration of the new body on the 13th – 14th May. The election was conducted by an electoral committee who received 30 nominations from different organizations being categorized into nine constituencies and had used the secret ballot system for voting.
Professor Lovett Lawson was elected Chairman of the Executive Board and chaired the first meeting. He offered an office space at the Zankli Medical Centre for a temporary secretariat office and the help of Dr. Olanrewaju Oladimeji who was appointed as the secretary of the board.
